Veterinarian, cardiologist and teacher

Lester Vega is a veterinarian specializing in cardiology and one of the founders of Clínica Huellas in La Castellana, Caracas. He sees his patients there, alongside a team that offers internal medicine, surgery, diagnostic imaging and 24-hour emergency care.

Cardiology

A healthy heart, a longer life

Echocardiography

Ultrasound assessment of the heart's structure and function.

Electrocardiography

Recording the heart's electrical activity to detect arrhythmias and conduction disorders.

Heart disease management

Follow-up and treatment adjustments for patients with chronic heart disease.

Pre-surgical evaluation

A cardiology check before anesthesia or surgery, so the procedure can go ahead with peace of mind.

When should you see a cardiologist?

  • A persistent cough, especially at night or on waking
  • Tiring easily or low tolerance for exercise
  • Fast or labored breathing at rest
  • Fainting or loss of balance
  • A swollen belly or unexplained weight loss
  • Pale or bluish gums
